FACSPS Activities for 2004
February 8, Sunday - Ethnic Festival at Olympia Center. FACSPS participation is at 2 PM with traditional folk dances (tinikling, pandango, banga, itik-itik), and the cute, modern rap dance, Spaghetti.
March 13, Saturday - Filipino Night at Panorama City, starting at 7 PM, with Lt. General Edward Soriano as Guest of Honor and Rufino Ignacio as Guest Speaker. Folk dances, exhibits on the Philippines will be presented by FACSPS. Admission tickets sold by sponsors, the World Affairs Council.
March 20, Saturday - Honor our Seniors Program, 3-6 PM, Olympia Center. Stage talents, dance, songs, drama. Selection of CY 2004 Seniors Queen. Potluck
April - To be arranged. Presentation of folk dances at senior centers, YMCA, L&I, and area schools.
May 8, Saturday - General Membership Meeting, 3-5 PM, Hallen Hall, Sacred Heart Parish.
May 12-18 - Visit of the De La Salle University Chorale from Manila. We need Host Families.
May 22, Saturday - Awards and Scholarship Program for Graduates, 6-10 PM, Olympia Center. $500 and $60 grants will be awarded. Please submit names of prospective graduates, high school and college to Mayleen Panaligan ASAP. Scholarship application forms for $500 college-bound scholarship are now available at Principal’s office of schools in Olympia, Lacey, Yelm, and Tumwater. Potluck.
June 12 - 13 - Celebration of Philippine Independence (Pagdiriwang) at the Seattle Center. FACSPS Lakbay Sining drama presentation.
July 1 - July 5, Thursday - Monday - FACSPS Families Outing at Orcas Island at the WA State Parks Environmental Learning Center. It will be an all-fun, live-in retreat in comfortable cottages. Remember two years ago? Hike, swim, boat, river-raft, golf, kayak, food galore, fun programs in the evening, and lots of fellowship. $20 per day per person for food and lodging. Call Rufino (360.456.5540) for your interest. Space is limited.
July 31, Saturday - SMU Alumni Halo-Halo Fundraising Event at Hallen Hall, 1:30 - 4:30 pm.
August 7, Saturday - Annual Picnic at Rainier Vista Community Park, Lacey at 10:30 am - 5:00 pm. Fun. Games. Potluck.
August 15-21 - Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, WA. The Philippines representing Asia-Pacific is the defending champion.
August 21-25 - Hosting of Girls Junior Softball Team from Philippines. The Team will play a series of exhibition games against the best teams in the Olympia region on August 22-24 at Bucknell Softball Stadium, at Marvin Road. Admission is FREE.

September 18 to December 16 - Diversity Volleyball League at Hallen Hall, games every Thursday, starting at 7:30 pm. Form your own teams. Play against athletes of different ethnicities. Call Joey Viray (360.459.9799).
October 16, Saturday - Annual Formal Ball at Fort Lewis American Lake Club, 6-12 midnight. Superb music, dancing, and food. Tickets at $35.
November 6, Saturday - Spelling Bee and Academic Olympics for elementary and high school students. Prizes.
December 11, Saturday - Xmas Family Celebration at Hallen Hall starting at 6 pm.
December 17, Friday - Simbang Gabi Mass at St. Michael Church, Olympia (7:00 pm).
December 18, Saturday - Simbang Gabi Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Lacey (5:00 pm).
December 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 - Xmas home-to-home caroling.

- May 13, Thursday - Pierce College, Puyallup at 11:30 am for short concert.
- May 14, Friday - River Ridge High School at 11:15 am for cultural interchange and mini-concert with students of the high school. Will end around 1:20 pm.
- May 15, Saturday - Gala concert at Olympia High School Theater (1302 North Street, Olympia, WA 98501) at 7:30 pm. Admission prices at $10 for general, $8 for students and seniors, and $20 for sponsors.
- May 16, Sunday - Mass chorale at Sacred Heart Parish at 10:00 am (906 Bowker St SE, Lacey, WA). Trip to Mt Rainier.
